Super-heavyweight sensation Bob Sapp will headline Strikeforce's event on Feb. 23 at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Wash., Strikeforce announced on Monday.

Sapp's opponent is expected to be named soon.

Sapp was a star offensive lineman for the University of Washington football team where he won the Morris Award as a senior.

After a brief career in the NFL and as a pro wrestler, the 6-4, 375-pound Sapp embarked on a career in MMA and became one of the more popular fighters in Japan.

Sapp compiled an MMA record of 8-2-1, but he hasn't fought since November 2005 when he scored a first-round TKO over Kim Jong Wang in a K-1 HERO's event.
