LONG BEACH - IBF super-flyweight champion Vic "Raging Bull" Darchinyan (30-1-1, 24 KOs) faces WBC and WBA 115-pound champion Cristian Mijares (36-3-2, 15 KOs) in a highly-anticipated unification fight on Saturday at The Home Depot Center in Carson

The Australian-based Armenian spoke with a small group of boxing writers before a light workout on Tuesday at Charles Williams Combination Fitness Gym.

Darchinyan believes he will "destroy" Mijares, but he also said people will be surprised by his technical skills. Darchinyan called Mijares overrated and he also said he will be able win over Mexican fans with his all-action style.

Super-middleweight prospect Victor Oganov (28-1, 28 KOs) also made an appearance at Williams Gym. Oganov takes on 2004 U.S. Olympian Andre Dirrell (16-0, 11 KOs) in the other half of the Showtime doubleheader.

Oganov talked about making the move from Russia to Australia and befriending Darchinyan.
